I think that, to a degree, bias is unavoidable when using support material. There will always be at least some bias for or against something within writing and supporting material. However, I do not believe that bias is always a bad thing. It can be bad at times, in cases of presenting facts only, such as in an information speech. This does not make it bad all the time though. It can help the writer or speaker feel more passionate about their work if they have a personal inclination towards one side or the other. For example, I enjoy researching about cars, so the time I spent on my information speech researching was much more enjoyable than if I were to have researched the history of yarn or anything else. I think that bias is always present, but it is not always bad.
