When it comes to the usage of a visual aid or a power point presentation to be used during a speech i find they can be useful. It can help regain focus of the audience especially during a longer speech. However the visual aid should not be more intriguing than what you are saying so the audience does not lose focus from you and onto the screen. Keeping it simple yet clear on why its there to support what you are saying.
